2 Nights / 3 Days North Bali Nature Trip

Day 1: Beach hotel – Mengwi – Traditional market in Tabanan – Jatiluwih – Marga

You will be picked up from your hotel and start the journey toward Central Bali. The first stop is the beautiful temple complex of the former royal family of Mengwi, surrounded by moats – a masterpiece of Balinese architecture. Afterwards you visit a traditional market in Tabanan. Here you experience the colorful bustle, exotic scents and can discover fresh tropical fruits or local spices.

The journey continues to the breathtaking, wide Jatiluwih rice terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During a walk you learn more about the traditional “Subak” irrigation system, which is also protected by UNESCO. To finish the tour, you visit the idyllic Yeh-Hoo Waterfall, hidden in lush nature – the perfect place for refreshment and wonderful memory photos.

Overnight stay: Villa Taman di Blayu (or equivalent hotel). B

Day 2: Marga – Bedugul – Munduk Waterfall – Banjar – Lovina

After breakfast, you first drive uphill toward Bedugul and visit the colorful vegetable market in an idyllic mountain village. Afterwards you visit the well-known water temple Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, picturesquely located directly on Lake Beratan. The route continues upward to the Pancasari mountain pass, from where the drive goes to Munduk. Here you hike to Munduk Waterfall, a true natural gem away from the large tourist crowds.

After this nature experience, you visit “Air Panas Banjar,” a hot, sacred sulfur spring with bathing facilities that is said to have healing effects. Finally, you check in at your Hotel New Sunari Lovina.

Day 3: Lovina – Sekumpul – Kintamani – Beach hotel

You will be picked up at 08:00 at Hotel New Sunari Lovina. The drive takes you away from the coast and up into the mountainous region of North Bali. The winding roads offer beautiful views of traditional villages and clove plantations and slowly lead you toward Sekumpul.

Sekumpul is considered one of Bali’s most beautiful and most powerful waterfalls. Together with a local guide, you hike down into the green valley. The path leads over steps and past viewpoints from which you can admire the seven hidden cascades in the middle of the jungle. Once below, you feel the enormous spray – anyone who wishes can refresh themselves in the natural pools.

After the climb back up, you continue upward into the Kintamani highlands, where the air becomes noticeably cooler and fresher. Along the crater rim in Kintamani (Penelokan), fantastic cafes and restaurants line the road. Afterwards, the transfer to your beach hotel follows.

Recommendation for your luggage

Since you will be traveling both in the cooler mountain regions and at waterfalls, it is best to pack non-slip hiking or sports shoes, swimwear, towels and a light jacket for the evenings in the mountains.
